About Sam's Sun Bar
A little bit of sunshine, made with a whole lot of heart.
Sam's Sun Bar started with a pretty simple idea: I wanted to bring something new to the little town I grew up in.
Growing up in Gorman, I've always loved the sense of community that comes with living in a small town. But I've also always dreamed of creating something that felt a little different — something modern, convenient, and completely our own. I wanted a place where you didn't have to rush, wait in line, or work your schedule around someone else's hours. I wanted you to be able to walk through the door whenever it worked for you, whether that's first thing in the morning, on your lunch break, late at night, or somewhere in between.
That's where the idea for Sam's Sun Bar came to life.
I intentionally created Sam's as a self-serve, 24-hour tanning and wellness space because I wanted it to fit into real life. No awkward check-ins, no pressure, and no feeling like you have to hurry. Just a clean, comfortable space that's yours to enjoy whenever you need a little time for yourself.
But Sam's Sun Bar is about more than tanning.
I wanted it to feel like a safe place — somewhere you can walk in, exhale, put your phone down for a few minutes, and just have a little time for yourself. Whether you're here to tan, enjoy red light therapy, get a spray tan, or simply take a few quiet minutes out of a busy day, I want you to feel comfortable the second you walk through the door.
And then there's Sam.
If you've ever wondered where the name came from, Sam's Sun Bar is named after my best friend, Sammie.
Sammie has been a part of my life for years and is incredibly important to me. He has been there through some of the hardest seasons of my life and, in more ways than I could ever explain, he is one of the things that keeps me going every single day.
When I decided to create this business, I knew I wanted his name to be a part of it. I wanted to build something that carried a little piece of something I love so deeply.
So Sam's isn't just a business name. It's personal.
It's a reminder of the things that matter to me — home, comfort, loyalty, and having a place where you can simply be yourself.
A little about me...
For those of you who don't know me yet, I'm Madi, the owner of Sam's Sun Bar. I'm also a full-time veterinary technician, so animals have always been a huge part of my life. Outside of work and Sam's, you'll usually find me surrounded by my dogs, taking care of my plants, dreaming about the beach, or finding some new project to get myself into. 😂
I've always loved creating spaces that feel welcoming and personal, and that's exactly what I wanted Sam's to be.
I hope when you walk through these doors, you don't just feel like you're walking into a tanning salon. I hope it feels a little bit like coming home.
